Something not a lot of people don’t know about me is that
I’m a stress baker. So if I’m under a lot of stress or I’m facing big
decisions, etc, I tend to find myself in the kitchen whipping up some sort of
baked goods.
The only problem I’ve run into over the years, is that
although I can cook very well, my baking skills are a little lacking. In fact
some first attempts included deadly ninja cookies... cookies so hard they could
crack teeth... best to keep if you need to throw them at attacking zombies.
But after many... many years of practice, I am now able to
bake simple and surprisingly tasty goodies. This is also why you will find that
my baking recipes are extremely effortless and easy to follow.
Here is my very quick and easy scone recipe:
Ingredients
1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
½ tablespoon baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/8 cup brown sugar
¾ cup of water
Mix dry all your dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Add oil and mix in as thoroughly as possible.
Add water and mix until you have a sturdy but sticky dough
(I don’t believe in making scones so dry that it make you feel as if there’s a
dessert in the back of your mouth)
In a greased, medium sized 12 cup muffin tray spoon out the
mixture into all the cups.
Bake for 10 minutes at 200 Celsius / 395 fareinite. Or until
light brown, and when you put a baking skewer through it, it comes off clean.
